For something different and fun in the MetroWest Boston area, you’ve got to give the Melting Pot a try. The experience of cooking your own fresh food and then dipping it in lots of delectable sauces is a hoot. Who doesn’t love wine and cheese? And then take those, melt them all together with a little added spice and you’ve got heaven. One could make an entire meal just out of the cheese, a salad (to make you feel like you’re eating healthy), and a chocolate fondue for dessert. And in fact, the Melting Pot offers a girls’ night out on Monday nights that includes just that. Perfect for a night out with the ladies!

The bar is fairly small in this location. It is really just a place to grab a drink while you’re waiting for others to show up or if you’re waiting for a table. The wine list is fairly impressive with a good selection of wines by the glass and a healthy full wine list.

For families with children that are a little older and can handle the fondue forks (and the fact that there is a hot plate right in front of your seat), the Melting Pot is recommended to bring the family together and maybe even a smile on that teenager’s face.

The offerings include not only a variety of cheese fondues to choose from but also meats, seafood, pork, and chicken that you can have prepared with a traditional oil fondue or a healthier alternative of broth. All of the main entree fondue dishes are also served with a variety of vegetables to choose from.

The best is last. Dessert. Yumm! Chocolate fondue offered with nuts, or with marshmallows or peanut butter or even white chocolate if you’re not a fan of the milk or dark varieties.

A bit on the expensive side, for a special night out with friends, family, a special date, and especially for a girl’s night out, the Melting Pot is a must-do experience.

MetroWest Magazine gave the Melting Pot 4 stars. Click the link below for the full review.

Update: There have been some recent reviews on-line that the service has been mediocre and that you can wait a very long time for a reserved table. Buyer beware.
