89 Centrale is an Old world Italian Trattoria. Set in the granite basement of a historical building in downtown Milford, this tiny restaurant serves up some traditional Italian food like Nonna used to make. Always a medley of interesting folk at the petite bar, striking up a conversation is inevitable. Tony the bartender, who you might think owns the place, will most likely try and sell you a case of “discounted” wine before you leave and invite you to see him perform at a nearby piano bar. The ambiance falls a bit short in the dining room due to an overuse of formica, but is usually peppered with a few older folks having a quiet meal. Parking is usually available on the street around the building.
