Metrowest Boston Dining Guide

A small but friendly Not Your Average Joe’s situates itself in Needham center.  This is certainly one of the smaller units in the chain with a very small bar seating only about 8 and small groupings of tables in the main dining room.   There are only about 5-6 booths although they are amply sized for a party of 4.

Food was good but not excellent.   Tuna sashimi was overcooked and dry but pizza was perfect.  Salads were fresh and a nice mix of dressings and toppings to go along with them.  The spinach and pear salad was a bit skimpy on the blue cheese but was well rounded overall.  The spring roll appetizer tasted quite bland but what made it good was the peanut sauce for dipping.

The kids menu is well rounded and a great alternative for families looking for an inexpensive night out with meals freshly prepared.  The wine list is good offering a variety of whites and reds.  You’ll be sure to find something you like at a fair price.  The draft beer selection is above average offering Guinness, Sam’s, and IPA, and some local selections as well as seasonal offerings.

This is a nice place to go that is clean, the staff incredibly friendly, and the decor upbeat.  You will wait a while on a crowded night and I’m not sure I would go here for a romantic evening as it is a bit loud and crowded but for a good overall night out, I’d go back to Not Your Average Joe’s in Needham.
